The topic "Urban Heroes"Jumped the other night, while in the editorial office we were talking about the issues of Lucca of this year. We mistakenly realized we were talking about his most recent form but never of the game in his heart. Maybe it was so at the base of the fairs that, a bit like breathe, we had forgotten about it. (You have unofficially entered manual breathing mode)

Urban Heroes saw the light many years ago from the mind of Alessandro Rivaroli in collaboration with Matteo Botti, entering with tense leg in role-playing games super heroic simulators. I almost fondly remember more than one interview with the kids talking about modern heroes and everyday anti-heroes. Over the years (five, to be exact) Urban Heroes has been enriched with manuals, heroes, fans and much, much more. THU, for example, let's talk about the module that came out in Lucca last year, Military and Rebels.

A look at the past and one at the future

Looking at Urban Heroes in hindsight, the manual clearly has that "minimalist polish brick". Streaks of tables, rules, possibilities, ideas, backgrounds, powers and much more pile up in a pit of numbers scary. I admit I was scared too, years ago, when leafing through the manual for the first time. After that, the habit came and, even if I haven't played with it for a long time, the rules have resurfaced like the old notions about cycling. The illustrations are still great and the manual is well edited, with a glossary provided (but it could be more) and an interesting index. Urban has survived these years like few others.

Unfortunately, the fact that Urban Heroes is an RPG cannot escape the eye of the new generation of players traditional. Even if the definition changes from person to person there is a narrator who decides the difficulty and a variable number of players divided by class. Some may look at the rules tables with disgust while others may like it, but the part regulations by Urban is what makes it one of the best simulators I've ever encountered. In his field, as they say, he plays well indeed, very well. Forget about being able to beat up an entire square of soldiers leaving them helpless; the result may go against your epic version of the hero honed by years and years of D&D.

Everything is ready for Lucca

To conclude, Urban Heroes is a product heartfelt by its authors. Every year, something came out, an addition, an extra piece of history that put the manual in step with the times. The community has solidified around this game and is excited for the next release, Indigenous and Forsaken. Lucca will see, as in previous years, a new piece to be added to the Urban Heroes schedule and you can only be happy with this.
