Guilty Gear Xrd

With its 621 participants, Guilty Gear Xrd has won a place in the main event for the fourth consecutive year, albeit down compared to the last EVO edition and second only to Injustice 2 with regards to the lowest number of participants.

The 8 giants at the top of this competition were the reigning champion NAGE, OMITO, Rion, Machabo, Teresa, Zadi, LostSoul and Fumo.
From the early stages of the tournament it was clear how OMITO, using Johnny and Machabo with a masterful Ky Kiske would have been destined to clash in the finals of the tournament: fierce and consistent they quickly conquered the podium and then faced each other in a final that saw Johnny OMITO triumph over his rival.

LostSoul's Elphelt Valentine follows in third place, miraculously recovered by Loser Bracket entering the top 8 as the only American still in the race. Though unable to defeat Machabo and take second place, LostSoul successfully managed to defeat EVO 2017 champion NAGE, taking the ex-champion's Faust to fourth place with a 2-0 win. Followed by Zadi, who proved his worth with a solid Raven, Rion's Ky Kiske, Fumo's Elphelt Valentine and Teresa's famous Jam Kuradoberi.

Over the past 3 years, although it has always been very popular, Super Smash Bros. Melee has had a significant drop in the number of its participants, which this year with its 1302 players has reached almost half compared to 2016.

Known names from the competitive scene of the title are confirmed in this top 8, which sees S2J, Mang0, Wizzrobe, the 2017 EVO champion Hungrybox, Plup, Armada, Leffen and Swedish Delight compete for the top of the sixth consecutive EVO of the game.

Champions Leffen and Armada find themselves facing each other for first place in a match of pure ability, both using Fox from the StarFox series for the first two sets, both victoriously conquered by Leffen.
Despite the change of character in favor of Princess Peach, Armada is defeated by the compatriot who takes home the prize pool and the title of Melee champion of EVO 2018.

It is Plup, with Sheik, to conquer third place leaving the reigning champion and his Jigglypuff off the podium, followed by Wizzrobe's Captain Falcon, Mang0's Falcon, Swedish Delight's Sheik and S2J's Captain Falcon.
