Da The Sprawl a Fantastories, from Never Tell Me the Odds a The ballad of the cruel sea, here are all the new role-playing games of Dreamlord Games scheduled for this spring!
These titles were already known, but the beautiful people of Dreamlord Games (visit the website Thu!) did us the kindness to send us the press kit of the new RPGs they will publish this spring. So let's take an overall look at these works and see what awaits us!
We have a total of six new role-playing games, very different in setting, system and themes dealt with. The choice to present such a range of titles is due, as Dreamlord Games tell us, "to the feeling that the world of role-playing games is growing together with the enthusiasm and passion for RPGs". For this reason, Dreamlord Games wants cover all possible types of players, from complete beginners to lovers of dramatic games, without forgetting those who have little time to play.
Furthermore, these publications also mark the beginning of the collaboration between Dreamlord Games and the project Nessundove, who already deals with publishing, creative workshops and art in general.
So let's see in more detail these titles.
The Sprawl: Touched, a magical addition from Dreamlord Games
Definitely one of the most talked-about releases of Dreamlord Games, The Sprawl: Touched consists of a series of supplements or hack of Hamish Cameron's role-playing game, The Sprawlin fact.
If the The Sprawl original focuses on corporate and guild battles in a futuristic and dystopian setting, Dreamlord Games supplements they add a touch of magic to the whole. Always keeping the system PBTA extension, The Sprawl: Touched inserts in the game world glimpses, that is, the space-time distortions that will also cause cosmic horrors.
Touched will be divided into two modules: A darkening alley e Premium. In A darkening alley we will play the beginning of the phenomenon of the Splashes, in a dystopian setting of the Eighties. Instead, in Premium we will see how the magical distortion of the Rips has changed humanity, creating new kin groups: elves, humans, trolls, dwarves and savages.
In all this, perhaps the real enemy will always be the corporations, who will try to exploit this chaos and these changes to their advantage.
The Sprawl: Touched it is designed to cover multiple game sessions, with four to six players. The manual will be around 100 pages and will be part of the series The Key of the Apocalypse, for a price of around € 30.
The ballad of the cruel sea: a PBTA on mysterious remote ports
Also The ballad of the cruel sea it's a PBTA extension full of mysterious beings and timeless horrors. But this time the protagonists will be the crew of a ship that wanders among the most remote British Isles of the XNUMXth century. In the ports where they will dock, they will have to face a harsh and wary reality, in which there is talk of mysterious disappearances. How will the sailors react? Will they be ready to take responsibility for the dangerous political choices they are called to make?
The ballad of the cruel sea (Alas for the Awful Sea) is a powerful and dramatic RPG written by Hayley Gordon and Vee Hendro. It gives its best when played over multiple sessions and supports four to six players. The Italian edition of Dreamlord Games will be about 240 pages long and will be part of the series The Key of the Apocalypse, for a price of around € 30.
Fantastories: a role-playing game (also) for children!
At a time when trying to expand the role-playing audience, it is very important to have new titles dedicated to younger people, as we have already seen with Tails of Equestria. In this case, Dreamlord Games brings Fantastories (Amazing tales) by Martin Lloyd, a role playing game from immediate rules contained on a single page, perfect for stimulating the imagination and collaborative storytelling. Basically, everything is possible and the rules adapt to any story.
Fantastories is meant for an adult and one to three children, ages four and up and is suitable for both one-shot and longer sessions. The manual mainly contains advice on how to play role-playing with children, how to manage adventures and four settings and following the best practices. The edition of Dreamlord Games will be in A5 format, around 100 pages long and part of the series The Key to the Stories, for a price of around € 25.

This project was born from the collaboration of Dreamlord Games with NessunDove and it is designed for those who have never played a role. 24 + 2 game poems is literally a gdr on poetry, in which starting from a poem a single scene is interpreted, with a very precise atmosphere, giving life to a short but intense experience.

Never Tell Me The Odds: the space rogues of Dreamlord Games
For those wishing to interpret one rogue around the space of a distant galaxy far, Never Tell Me The Odds it is certainly the right game. This title requires no preparation, but only the compilation of the cards of the characters, which are characterized not so much by what they know how to do, but by what they are willing to risk. One thing is certain, however: their lives are always on the edge and they will need a lot, a lot of luck!
Never Tell Me The Odds is written by David Sommerville and is primarily intended for one shot, although it can also be carried out for multiple sessions, and supports three to six players. Infinite Minutes: a chamber LARP by Dreamlord Games
Of all the new Dreamlord Games products, this is without a doubt the most particular. Indeed, Infinite Minutes it's a Chamber LARP written by Antonio Amato and will follow the awakenings of a group of astronauts on a 14-year journey back from the sun. The playing people will play each cryogenic awakening before a new gravity sling. How will the ship's crew, in charge of such an important yet devastating mission, react to this journey?
Infinite Minutes is meant for a single session game lasting about four hours, supporting seven to nine players. Also this title will be published by NessunDove and will be part of the series The House Key.
Some final considerations
Personally, I have always appreciated the titles proposed by Dreamlord Games and I must say that this year the choice is varied and abundant.
I have heard good de The ballad of the cruel sea, but I'm particularly curious to try Never Tell Me The Odds. As always, I really appreciate role playing games for younger kids like Fantastories, which are a must have for each game library. I am also very curious about 24 + 2 game poems, above all because I could use them to bring some lovers of the poetry of my acquaintance closer to the GDR. And already having the The Sprawl original, even its supplements may have a place in my library. Finally, I'm not a LARP player, but I already know that many of my friends will appreciate it Infinite Minutes.
Thanks again to Dreamlord Games for letting us know about their publications!
