My name is Vittorio Emanuele Bottigella, noble hunter of the city of Pavia. During each Hunt I carry the coat of arms of my Family with honor for one great purpose: knowledge. This is the engine of the Bottigella family: exploring what is hidden behind the veil of Extraordinary Reality, a fact that makes us in favor of the Empire and very ill-seen by the Dogma.
To Erik Bottigella,
My son, I hope your training is going well.
Let me tell you about today's events.
Dark shadows hover over Pavia: life outside the walls is slowly disappearing, with the plants wilting and the Ticino becoming increasingly murky. In addition, today a strange earthquake * hit the Dogma library, and they sent us to check.
I had the honor of hunting with an exponent of the Mezzabarba Family (which as you will recall have been our allies for a long time), and a man of the Langosco family, which has strong connections both with the Empire and with the Dogma. The latter was entrusted with the role of Headmaster. With us they also hunted a Maat and a certain Rodrigo Borgia, one of the Camerino mercenaries, hired to defend Pavia - thanks also to the help of a family member. Then, obviously, there were also members of the Beccaria family, our open rivals. The link between the Dogma and the Beccaria is as strong as the hatred that the Dogma feels for us.
Arrived at the library we were told to speak with Fra Sirio, he had witnessed the creation of the fracture caused by the unusual shock.
Inside the library the silence was almost surreal, but we still managed to easily find the friar, and the gigantic opening. After a brief consultation we decided to go inside, a long and difficult climb that almost cost us our lives more than once.
After the descent we found ourselves in a kind of crypt, something never seen, even if the pavement has left me to guess something very ancient, and neglected for a long time. Just as we were trying to figure out where we were we saw something that we would have preferred not to see. A purple rocket: abominations.
We rushed down the corridor, towards the rocket launch point, and what we found shocked us: two groups of cultists stood out before us, black and white, who were attacked by abominations resembling deformed women. Strange signs of blood were traced all over the floor, symbols linked to an interrupted Remembrance ritual. Together with the other groups we managed to defeat black cultists and abomination women. Looking at what remained of the black cultists, we noticed that the symbols of the cult of the fog were embroidered on their clothes, with which Pavia has already clashed more than once. The white cultists instead wore a pendant adorned with an unknown symbol, very similar to a lily: even now we do not know who we found ourselves in front of, and especially if they are enemies or friends.
After the clash we returned to the surface at our Villa, and we decided to tell the events of the library at the Siniscalco, also supported by the Maats. Rodrigo Borgia also showed up at villa Bottigella, to give us gratitude for his engagement and, given his link with the Dogma, we tried to exploit it to reach information that was not included in us. In fact, you must know that some of us have managed to reach the crypts from the depths of some prisons of the Dogma, of which it is better not to speak by letter. Now let your old man rest. The Hunt has just begun.
Your beloved father,
PS As you can imagine, the abomination women were only corrupt Remembrants, we will also investigate this with extreme care.
* Pavia is a non-seismic area, so the event is very unlikely and therefore almost certainly linked to a magical event.
